Rock & Roll City Rockers
In 1997, at the request of long time friend DangerBoy "Lightnin' Quick" Fasthands, Sicherman made yet another major career shift. DangerBoy's band, The DangerBoy Collective, which consisted only of himself, was breaking up, and he felt it could use some new blood. Sicherman, still under contract to Warner Brothers Records for the never produced "Songs of the Sea" album, changed his name to Jackee Crackhouse, and teamed up with Fasthands. Together they were the Rock & Roll City Rockers and their union created a new era in music. The Rock and Roll Era.
Things weren't always easy for the Fab Two. The
market for a hard rocking acoustic duo was slim at first, not to mention
DangerBoy's death in 1999. The coroner's report listed
DangerBoy's cause of death as "a rock and roll catastrophe" in which
438 people died, all of whom were him. In the coming years many others would
take DangerBoy's place, but no one would bring the heart and the adrenaline
fueled acoustic rock power that his current replacement, DangerBoy Part II, has
delivered.
"I don't mind being thought of as a replacement." says DangerBoy Part II, "My dream has always been to replace a fallen legend. I can't ask for more than this, because truth be told, I'm not that good." When asked to elaborate he would only say, "Ow! Rock!"
The Rockers have been back on tour playing such venues as The Little Room, and Janey's 16th birthday. They've also been in the studio. Three recordings have now been released, a pared down version of the RRCR classic Rock Anthem "I Believe in Rock & Roll," "If you want to Rock and Roll Me," and "You Can't Lock This Rock Away." Those working with the Rockers say other tracks including "Rock & Roll Fantasy Weekend," "Rock & Roll Picnic," and "All These Kids Know How to Party, but None of These Kids Knows How to Rock" are coming along and should be available to the public shortly.
