Two people who did appreciate
Sicherman's work in Angels Run, Little Boys Work and in television's
Frankenfamily were Director Matt Fraction and Fraction's life
partner, actor Scott Bakula. Fraction and Bakula had been shopping around their
newest project, a small film about two delicatessen The result was one of the year's worst movies. Very
little was changed from the original script and Fraction insisted that Sicherman
maintain the Yiddish dialect that had been written into it. While it is
indisputable that Sicherman's accent was flawless, the effect was disconcerting
to say the least. Bakula, for his part, gave a stirring performance as
Yitzhach, part owner of the delicatessen, and the affection he had for
Sicherman's Moishe appeared not ingenuine. When reached for comment on having worked with David
Sicherman Bakula told us, "Life partner? Yeah, I met him once in college, but
life partner? I'm married for Christ's sake. Life partner? Do you know how I can
find Fraction? I need to talk to that guy."

The project, simply called Pie, wasn't getting the response they had
hoped for, so to garner more interest, they changed the role of the protagonist
into a ten-year-old boy and attached Sicherman's name to it.
